A School’s Identity from the Ground Up
A Charter School Brand Built for Discovery
Red Apple Elementary School (RAES)—a new North Seattle charter school—needed an identity as dynamic as its mission. Tasked with creating a brand from scratch, I developed a vibrant visual system that balanced youthful energy with institutional trustworthiness. The bold, vivid color palette and playful interactions weren’t just eye-catching—they embodied the school’s spirit of curiosity and growth, engaging both children and parents without leaning too far in either direction.
With no existing assets, I strategically used illustrations and curated stock photography to build a flexible identity that could evolve alongside the school. The resulting logo, style guide, and foundational materials (business cards, letterhead, and website) didn’t just meet approval standards—they set the stage for RAES’ future expansion into uniforms, merchandise, and interior spaces. Every design decision was made with scalability in mind, ensuring the brand could mature as gracefully as the students it serves.
